Each two-and-a-half-hour session, given over the course of eight weeks, is a combination of information on aspects of ageing or self-confidence with opportunities for self-reflection and sharing of experiences from the group.

This programme is a holistic approach to health promotion for older people. It provides education for health, develops life skills and promotes positive mental health and self-confidence, thus leading to a better quality of life. It was developed for both men and women in middle or later life in the community.

Project Objectives

Assist and facilitate people to explore their ageing Challenge, the myths and stereotypes that lead to ageism.

Provide information on physical, psychological and social aspects of growing older

Self-confidence and ageism

The components of self and physical ageing 

Psychological aspects of normal ageing

Self-knowledge and stesser in later life 

The emotional self

Improving self-confidence and self-worth Isolation and loneliness

Sexuality in later life
