Care & Repair/Pendant Alarms

Our Care and Repair team undertakes small jobs for vulnerable/isolated elderly people living in our catchment.

The service also co-ordinates the Senior Alert Scheme (SAS) which provides personal monitored alarms for older people.

The Care and Repair service is delivered with the support of the Government’s Tús Programme.

All staff are Garda vetted.

What Services are provided

Type of work undertaken for Vulnerable/Isolated Elderly People

Installing grab rails and secondary stair rails
Home readiness (people returning from hospital)
Small garden maintenance
Small household jobs, such as fitting battery-operated smoke alarms

Senior Personal Alarm Scheme

The objective of the Senior Alert Scheme (SAS) is to encourage community support for vulnerable older people in our communities through the provision of personal monitored alarms.

Funding is made available by the Department of Rural and Community Development towards the purchase of equipment (personal alarm and pendant).
