DNP’s experienced Enterprise Team and Business Mentors will guide you through the steps required to turn your idea into a business venture by providing a range of business supports.

Enterprise Supports

General advice and support for people from our catchment area who are considering self-employment or who are currently running a small business.

An initial group meeting to introduce people to the various supports available to those hoping to start their own business.

A variety of practical enterprise training courses.​

Assistance and advice on taxation, including tax registration, for sole traders and partnerships.

Assistance with the preparation of a business plan.

Advice in applying for the Back to Work Enterprise Allowance Scheme (BTWEA) and the Short-Term Enterprise Allowance Scheme.

Business mentoring support.

DNP run, throughout the year, a range of practical business courses. Examples include:

Back To Work Enterprise Allowance & Short-Term Enterprise Allowance Schemes

Both schemes offer support to unemployed individuals who are moving into self- employment by allowing them to retain a portion of their social welfare payments for a maximum of 2 years. DNP assist with, and assess, applications for these schemes on behalf of the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection.
